Secrecy of Spaces
This work was a response to viewing the Anthony Shaw Collection, in particular the work housed in York museum store. Works are carefully catalogued and identified with tags attached with white ribbons. This detail was explored through this work, wrapping clay slab forms with thin paper ribbons dipped in slip. After firing the paper strips have burned away leaving behind fragile ‘ghosts’ behind obscuring the secret spaces within.
